Quality Assurance and Analytical Investigations
QinetiQ offers an extensive standard testing capability to ISO, EN, BS, IP and ASTM methods as well as a wide range of specialist analytical techniques including - gas chromatography, mass spectroscopy and surface analysis techniques.

Microbiological Testing
QinetiQ can test for biological fuel contamination and provide impartial advice on possible treatment methods to enable the fuel to be brought up to specification.

Specification Development
QinetiQ manages, amongst others, the United Kingdom jet fuel specification which gives us a deep understanding of aviation fuel issues and a unique insight that enables us to resolve your problems.

Development of New Test and Evaluation Methods
QinetiQ is at the forefront of test and evaluation method development and are well placed to assess new techniques or apply them to fuel or additives to predict actual performance in fuel systems.

Fluid Handling
QinetiQ has extensive knowledge of filtration technology to help resolve your fuel handling issues.

Flammability and Hazards
We can offer advice on issues such as inerting atmospheres, electrostatic build-up, oil mist formation and flammability limits. We have practical experience of monitoring charge generation through fuel systems and can advise on the mitigation of the risk of a electrostatic discharges.

Future fuels
QinetiQ has conducted extensive studies into the technical and strategic implications associated with products ranging from bio fuels and liquid fuels from non-conventional sources through to hydrogen.
